(NYSE: TXT) company, is pleased to announce New York City Police Department has selected the Bell 412EP as the new Air Sea Rescue platforms for the NYPD Aviation Unit. Two new four-axis, Bell 412EP’s will be customized with state of the art avionics and mission specific equipment by Edwards & Associates, Inc., Bristol, TN. The new Air Sea Rescue Helicopters will replace the older Bell 412’s that have been faithfully serving the NYPD since the mid 1990’s. Based at Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, NY the NYPD Aviation Unit has been in existence since 1928 and has been operating Bell Helicopters for over 60 years.
