LAFAYETTE, LA (April 2, 2009) – Acadian Composites, a division of Aeronautical Accessories, Inc., an affiliate of Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, today announced that Acadian Composites is being recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with the coveted Certificate of Excellence Diamond Award. setting the standard in aviation training.
Acadian Composites’ perseverance and dedication are being recognized by the FAA with the coveted Certificate of Excellence Diamond Award. This award is the highest award given to an aviation employer, and reserved only for those who have shown extraordinary emphasis in training. Acadian received the FAA Diamond Certificate of Excellence by having 100% participation of all eligible employees receiving an Aviation Maintenance Training (AMT) award.

In addition to Acadian receiving the Diamond Certificate of Excellence the following Certificates of Excellence were presented to Acadian Composites’ employees in recognition of their individual contribution to the pursuit of training: 5 Bronze awards, 18 Silver awards, 9 Gold awards, and 3 Ruby awards.
Obtaining these awards requires dedication by both employees and their employer. To receive any of these awards individuals must attend a minimum of 2 hours of FAA training on regulations and policy in addition to completing the following requirements to reach the levels detailed below:

Bronze Award — 6 hours of aviation industry maintenance training

Silver Award — 14 hours of aviation industry maintenance training

Gold Award — 34 hours of aviation industry maintenance training

Ruby Award — One of the following:

A 10-day industry aviation maintenance course

58 hours of aviation industry maintenance training

Teach at least 15 hours of aviation industry maintenance training

Diamond Award — Complete a college-level course of 3-credit hours or 40 classroom hours in mathematics, english, science, safety, human factors, management subjects, or similar career-related maintenance courses; and one of the following:

A 10-day industry aviation maintenance course

58 hours of aviation industry maintenance training

Teach at least 15 hours of aviation industry maintenance training
